Trauma in the absence of safe and nurturing relationships affects health outcomes. Despite campaigns promoting relational care with children and families, many pediatric-focused APRNs are unaware of the shift in trauma-informed care (TIC) to a strengths-based focus from an ACEs-score focus alone. Pediatric-focused APRNs are strong advocates for children, and this presentation will provide a better understanding of the need for a strengths-based approach to impact long-term health outcomes for children.
