Multidisciplinary Approach to Disordered Feeding
1.0 contact hour. Disordered feeding is a concern frequently encountered by the pediatric primary care provider during a routine well child checkup.  Disordered feeding can range from mild food avoidant behaviors easily managed in an outpatient clinic setting to severe behavioral challenges requiring inpatient treatment.  Utilization of a multidisciplinary team is crucial in helping children with moderate to severe feeding disorders.  In this module a team consisting of a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Dietitian and 2 Psychologists review the current state of the art of care for kids with disordered eating.  Nannette Martin APRN is an independent feeding consultant that recently started her own feeding disorder practice.  Mary Beth Feuling MS, RD is an advanced practice dietitian from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and is an expert in the nutritional assessment of children with restricted diets.  In the final presentation, Psychologists Robert Demptser and Parker Husted, will discuss the behavioral management of this population.  Both Rob and Parker were instrumental in establishing the current inpatient feeding program at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
