Acute Care PNP Certification Exam Review Resources-2023 Continuing education credit will not be awarded by this course. The fee for this course is $175 for NAPNAP Members and $200 for non- members. The certification exam review resources are designed to prepare graduates of acute care PNP programs for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) acute care certification exam. Aligning with the revised content outline, these resources will focus on system-based acute care content and the role of the PNP in assessment, diagnosis and management of children with acute, critical and complex pediatric illnesses. NAPNAP’s self-paced certification exam review resources includes recordings and downloadable handouts from our live acute care certification review course on Sept. 21-23, 2023. Innovative Delivery of Sleep Counseling to Improve Infant Sleep and Parental Wellbeing 1.0 NAPNAP Contact Hour. This continuing education activity is offered at a reduced rate to NAPNAP Members. This presentation will discuss infant sleep patterns and the effectiveness of sleep training. Our research seeks to understand infant sleep norms, parental perceptions of infant sleep problems, correlations between infant sleep issues and parental wellbeing, and the effectiveness of sleep training. We hypothesize that infant sleep counseling will lead to improved measures of infant sleep, lower incidence of parental stress, and reduced incidence of unsafe sleep practices such as bedsharing. |

According to the CDC, 2-5 million, animal bites occur annually in the United States and per the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC), close to 10,000 insect bites or stings were reported to their centers. This presentation will be delivered in a case study format to help the participant identify needed history taking, recognize proper wound care if needed, and delineate required interventions. Lastly, appropriate pharmacology will be introduced, including a discussion on if and when antimicrobials and prophylaxis are warranted. |

TikTok sellers offering mail order “parent-proof” packaging--wasn’t the legal age raised to 21? Flavored products used by 85% of youth--weren’t flavored pods banned? Menthol flavoring ban—health equity solution or health equity problem? “What are wellness vapes”? This session will answer these questions and more and help you stay up-to-date in the ever evolving word of tobacco, vaping and nicotine. Attendees will leave with the latest evidence of the physical, neurodevelopmental, behavioral health and environmental harms associated with youth tobacco/nicotine use. We will also discuss health equity issues related to tobacco use and current policy and regulatory issues and challenges.
