Creating a Culture of Breastfeeding Support in the Pediatric Office 1.0 NAPNAP Contact Hour. This continuing education activity is offered at a reduced rate to NAPNAP Members. Advanced practice nurses are in ideal roles to promote the creation of a breastfeeding-friendly pediatric office. This presentation will discuss strategies such as staff education, triage and appointment protocols and early counseling of breastfeeding mothers to support long-term breastfeeding. Furthermore, we will discuss how creating a breastfeeding-friendly pediatric office improves breastfeeding self-efficacy through educational interventions and lactation support that begins with early postpartum visits and continues with follow-up visits. |

Acute Care PNP Certification Exam Review Course-2023 The fee for this course is $175 for NAPNAP Members and $200 for non-members. The certification exam review resources are designed to prepare graduates of acute care PNP programs for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) acute care certification exam. Aligning with the revised content outline, these resources will focus on system-based acute care content and the role of the PNP in assessment, diagnosis and management of children with acute, critical and complex pediatric illnesses. NAPNAP’s self-paced certification exam review course includes recordings and downloadable handouts from our live acute care certification review course on Sept. 21-23, 2023. An exam outline was updated on Dec. 9, 2024 so a few lectures were updated based on that. The course will award 16.75 CE. Note: If you completed and claimed credit for NAPNAP’s live certification review course, CE awarded for this online course will not be valid. |

The use of traditional power points is not an effective learning pedagogy for this tech-savvy population of Gen Z students. Applying interactive technology such as Nearpod, Flip, Canva, Tik Tok, iMovie and PowToon for classroom activities and discussions, engages the students and facilitates a learning style that is effective to the student need. This presentation will demonstrate how applying these platforms can engage this generation of students while enhancing critical thinking and facilitating effective communication skills. |

Infant Developmental Adaptation: Helping Parents Interpret and Manage Normal Infant Feeding and Sleep Behaviors 1.0 NAPNAP Contact Hour. For non-members, this continuing education activity rate is $20. Managing infant feeding and sleep behaviors are common concerns among parents, especially if they are breastfeeding. In the absence of skilled lactation support, infant crying and unsettled behavior are often misconstrued as a sign of milk insufficiency or inadequacy and can lead to formula supplementation and premature cessation of breastfeeding. In this presentation, infant developmental adaptive behaviors will be presented to assist parents in interpreting infant feeding and disorganized sleep behaviors and how to respond accordingly without undermining breastfeeding. |
