Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the U.S., with a childhood peak at five to nine years of age. Newborns are at risk for developing hyperbilirubinemia. In September 2022, the new AAP guidelines for hyperbilirubinemia were published unveiling new graphs and guidance for monitoring bilirubin levels, when to initiate phototherapy or to escalate care. This presentation will discuss the new hyperbilirubinemia guidelines and will include monitoring and managing babies at risk for hyperbilirubinemia within the nursery and outpatient setting.
