This continuing education activity was developed for pediatric nurses and nurse practitioners who provide care to youth with special health care needs. The collaborators for this CE activity will address the important process of transitioning youth with intellectual and developmental disorders from a child-centered health care model to an adult-focused approach for meeting their continued special health needs.

0.75 NAPNAP Contact Hour. This continuing education activity is offered at a reduced rate to NAPNAP Members. This continuing education activity rate is 7.5$ for NAPNAP Members. For non- members, this continuing education activity rate is 15$. This module will look at current practices and the historical perspective of evaluating febrile infants less than sixty days of age. It will provide information on the incentives for limiting such evaluations and review common inflammatory markers.  An overview of the PECARN study will be provided so the participant is better able to evaluate and understand the data related to the clinical prediction model for evaluating febrile infants.
