The role of pediatric-focused APRNs has taken on an increasing focus on non-clinical contributions to care, including political activism and advocacy. Despite this growing focus, many APRNs feel ill-equipped, not qualified or simply not empowered to take on this role. The intersection between health equity and health policy is a critical moment of influence for pediatric-focused APRNs as well as advocating for the viability of our profession. This presentation will provide an introduction to the legislative process as well as provide an opportunity for participants to analyze health policy under applicable policy frameworks.
