For non-members, this continuing education activity rate is $20. According to the CDC, 2-5 million, animal bites occur annually in the United States and per the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC), close to 10,000 insect bites or stings were reported to their centers. This presentation will be delivered in a case study format to help the participant identify needed history taking, recognize proper wound care if needed, and delineate required interventions. Lastly, appropriate pharmacology will be introduced, including a discussion on if and when antimicrobials and prophylaxis are warranted.

It is crucial for PNPs and all pediatric health care providers to understand the relationship between sexual abuse victimization and parenting to better advocate for vulnerable children and their caregivers. This continuing education article will explore sexual abuse victimization and its’ potential impact on adults who parent with a focus on implications for practice.

New insights into the immunopathology of FA have led to development of cautious use of controlled exposure to food allergens through allergen immunotherapy and emerging use of monoclonal antibody therapy to interfere with the synthesis of immunoglobulin E (IgE). The expert faculty will contextualize the mechanisms and available clinical trial data related to the use of biologic agents in FA as monotherapy and as adjunct therapy to allergen immunotherapy.
