Primary Care PNP Certification Exam Review Course-2025
The fee for this course is $200 for NAPNAP Members and $250 for non- members. The review course is designed to prepare graduates of primary care PNP programs for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) primary care certification exam. Infants born with congenital heart disease may be dependent on a patent ductus arteriosus to maintain blood flow to either the lungs or body. Some infants may not be recognized to have ductal dependent cardiac disease until the ductus arteriosus is closing and the patient is showing signs of poor perfusion or hypoxia. Detection and management of ductal dependence is critical to stabilize these patients until corrective procedures or surgeries can be offered.

Simplifying complicated pneumonia: Pediatric case studies

Complicated pneumonias in children are associated with longer lengths of hospital stay and increased resource utilization. There is debate in the literature about many aspects of managing complicated pneumonia, including antibiotic choice and duration, drainage approach, fibrinolysis and surgery. Taking a SMART approach to case studies in pediatric asthma management

Studies have shown the benefits of SMART (single maintenance and rescue therapy) have improved asthma control, reduced exacerbations, decreased oral steroid use and improved quality of life for patients not controlled with conventional therapy. SMART likely improves long-term asthma control and reduces the potential for over reliance on SABAs (short acting beta agonists). In this presentation, SMART will be presented in the context of case studies, and we will review challenges to implementation of SMART.
