According to the CDC, 2-5 million, animal bites occur annually in the United States and per the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC), close to 10,000 insect bites or stings were reported to their centers. This presentation will be delivered in a case study format to help the participant identify needed history taking, recognize proper wound care if needed, and delineate required interventions. Lastly, appropriate pharmacology will be introduced, including a discussion on if and when antimicrobials and prophylaxis are warranted.

This presentation will offer broader considerations for the common birth control and DUB decision making, as well as review the use of OC in premenstrual conditions, ovarian dysgenesis, Turner's syndrome and Acne.

The certification exam review resources are designed to prepare graduates of acute care PNP programs for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) acute care certification exam. Aligning with the revised content outline, these resources will focus on system-based acute care content and the role of the PNP in assessment, diagnosis and management of children with acute, critical and complex pediatric illnesses. NAPNAP’s self-paced certification exam review course includes recordings and downloadable handouts from our live acute care certification review course on Sept. 21-23, 2023.
