Applying interactive technology such as Nearpod, Flip, Canva, Tik Tok, iMovie and PowToon for classroom activities and discussions, engages the students and facilitates a learning style that is effective to the student need. This presentation will demonstrate how applying these platforms can engage this generation of students while enhancing critical thinking and facilitating effective communication skills.

According to the CDC, 2-5 million, animal bites occur annually in the United States and per the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC), close to 10,000 insect bites or stings were reported to their centers. This presentation will be delivered in a case study format to help the participant identify needed history taking, recognize proper wound care if needed, and delineate required interventions. Lastly, appropriate pharmacology will be introduced, including a discussion on if and when antimicrobials and prophylaxis are warranted.
