Turf Tensions: The Fight for Shared Space in Nurse Practitioner Student Clinical Placements

This continuing education activity is a recorded presentation for NAPNAP's 2026 National Conference.
Preceptor shortages and shared learning spaces are common challenges that can impact the clinical training of the pediatric nurse practitioner workforce. This presentation will explore the clinical placement processes for PNP student specialties with a focus on alignment between clinical experiences, national PNP role competencies, and didactic preparation. We will present exemplars from a recent study involving PNP program directors to illustrate best practices and effective strategies for addressing these challenges and other limitations in clinical site availability. The course will award 1.00 contact hours and is offered at a reduced rate to NAPNAP Members. This continuing education activity rate is $10 for NAPNAP Members, and $20 for non-members.
