Simplifying complicated pneumonia: Pediatric case studies

This continuing education activity is a recorded presentation for NAPNAP's 2026 National Conference.

Complicated pneumonias in children are associated with longer lengths of hospital stay and increased resource utilization. There is debate in the literature about many aspects of managing complicated pneumonia, including antibiotic choice and duration, drainage approach, fibrinolysis and surgery. In this presentation, we will review the literature and explore each of these options using case study analysis.

The course will award 1.00 contact hours, including 0.25 hours of pharmacology content. This activity is offered at a reduced rate to NAPNAP Members. This continuing education activity rate is $10 for NAPNAP Members, and $20 for non-members.
