While traditional approaches to pediatric mental health often prioritize pharmacological interventions, recent research has illuminated the profound influence of aspects of nutrition on cognitive development, emotion regulation, and other behavioral and psychiatric outcomes in children. This presentation introduces attendees to the dynamic field of nutritional psychiatry, aiming to empower clinicians with tangible recommendations for the use of nutritional interventions to optimize mental health and well-being in the pediatric population. This presentation explores a variety of nutritional interventions, including vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and amino acid and neurotransmitter precursors in the treatment of psychiatric disorders and enhancing mental resilience in children.
