Effects of Cannabis on Children and Adolescents

0.75 NAPNAP contact hour, of which 0.5 is Pharmacology, 0.5 Psychopharmacology and 0.25 is Controlled substance. This continuing education activity is offered at a reduced rate to NAPNAP Members. This continuing education activity rate is $7.5 for NAPNAP Members. For non- members, this continuing education activity rate is $15.

The purpose of this session is to provide the pediatric-focused APRN with an introduction to the use and effects of cannabis on children and youth. The discussion includes a conversation about the current cannabis laws, the physiologic effects of cannabis, the evidence for cannabis use in pediatrics and guideline for facilitating discussions with families who have interest in using cannabis for their children. This session is appropriate for providers from all patient care settings and for the novice to seasoned APRN.

Introduction: This continuing education activity is administered by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) as an Agency providing continuing education credit. Individuals who complete this program and earn a 70% or higher score on the post test will be awarded 0.75 NAPNAP contact hour, of which 0.5 is Pharmacology, 0.5 Psychopharmacology and 0.25 is Controlled substance.
