The Child with Anxiety
INTRODUCTION
Anxiety is the most common mental health concern seen in pediatric and primary care practices. This session will focus on the evidence-based screening, assessment and early intervention for children who present in primary care with significant anxiety symptoms. Cognitive behavioral interventions for routine 20 – 30 min visits will be described and demonstrated.
This continuing education activity is administered by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) as an Agency providing continuing education credit. Individuals who complete this program and earn a 70% or higher score on the post test will be awarded 1.0 NAPNAP contact hours, of which 0 is pharmacology content.

• Discuss the implementation of a cognitive behavioral skills building program as an evidence-based, first line intervention for children with anxiety in pediatric/primary care practices
