Advances in Food Allergy Management for Pediatric Patients

1.25 NAPNAP Contact Hour. This continuing education activity is offered free to NAPNAP Members and for non- members.

Pediatric nurse practitioners often play a critical role in recognizing immunoglobulin (Ig)-E–mediated food allergies (FAs) and discussing appropriate therapeutic options with patients and their caregivers. Recent treatment advances have introduced novel options that are reshaping the FA management paradigm, requiring pediatric providers to learn how best to incorporate these treatments into evidence-based management plans. In this interactive, discussion-based CE activity, experts in the field discuss the burden of FA and its treatment on patients and caregivers, outline guideline-recommended approaches for identifying severe FA in pediatric patients, report the latest clinical data on newly approved FA therapies for managing pediatric patients with FA, and detail effective interprofessional and multispecialty strategies to improve coordination of care for patients with severe FA.
