This presentation focuses on the critical need for prompt recognition and intervention in pediatric hematologic and oncologic emergencies to prevent severe outcomes. It covers the pathophysiology, clinical signs and management of conditions like febrile neutropenia, tumor lysis syndrome and stroke, using case studies to illustrate evidence-based protocols. The content is designed to equip pediatric nurse practitioners in acute care settings with the necessary skills to provide evidence-based care, emphasizing rapid assessment, stabilization and supportive therapies. We will explore case-based scenarios using an audience response system.
