NAPNAP's annual legislative training, which includes information for chapter legislative chairs (and presidents) for their role as state-based advocacy leaders.

This program is accredited by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners for 0.5 NAPNAP CE contact hours.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the roles and responsibilities of NAPNAP chapter legislative chairs and the national Health Policy Committee in advancing child health policy.
  2. Identify effective strategies for building relationships with legislators, collaborating with advocacy partners, and communicating child health priorities at the state and local levels.
  3. Apply advocacy best practices, including developing clear legislative messages, making effective policy "asks," and using professional communication strategies to influence child health policy.
  4. Locate NAPNAP advocacy resources and describe how they can be used to support state and federal advocacy efforts.
