This continuing education activity is FREE to NAPNAP Members. Why should you be concerned about tick bites?  While the bite is small, we should worry about tick bites as ticks are vectors for various diseases including: Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Lyme Disease, Powassan, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Tularemia, and others.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will understand when children are at risk for contracting vector-borne diseases based on where they live and travel.
2. Participants will be able to communicate key messages to specific age groups, ethnic groups, and educational levels about vector-borne diseases and strategies for helping to prevent their occurrence.
3. Participants will be able to identify key symptoms of vector-borne diseases and counsel children and their parents when immediate medical attention/intervention is indicated.
