More than 22 million people are employed in an agricultural-related field, which is one of our nation’s most dangerous industries and the only worksite where children can be present. Every day, 33 children are seriously injured and every three days, a child dies in agricultural-related incidents. The presenters will use case studies to provide a hands-on workshop enabling participants to explore the incidence and causes of child injuries/fatalities and provide access to free, scientifically based anticipatory guidance materials and agricultural safety resources.

At a time where clinicians need to reduce cost while improving outcomes, this presentation will review evidence-based care to promote best outcomes in patients with cerebral palsy. The presenter will discuss identification and management of conditions such as hip subluxation, osteoporosis and spasticity as part of an interdisciplinary team. Topics will include pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic intervention, imaging and assessment tools. The presentation will also examine use of telehealth to support family-centered care of these medically complex patients.

For non- members, this continuing education activity rate is 20$. Despite safety measures, unintentional ingestions continue to disproportionally affect children less than 5 years of age. Toddlers and preschoolers are at an increased risk for fatal ingestions, and rapid identification and mitigation of such toxic ingestions is essential to the practice of pediatric-focused providers in the acute care setting. This presentation aims to review and outline fatal toxidromes in this age group, as well as discuss epidemiological trends of toxic substance ingestions within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The internet provides many opportunities to enrich the lives of youth by providing greater access to learning opportunities, valuable resources and positive social interactions with peers. However, the internet is a relatively unregulated entity that can place children and adolescents at risk for a variety of negative and potentially dangerous exposures including pornography, online sexual solicitations and interactions with older adolescents, peers and adults. This session will describe child and adolescent exposure to pornography and online sexual solicitation and use interactive case studies to explore implications for practice.

Practice how to start the conversation through case discussion in an interactive learning module on LGBTQIA+ health. Focus group methodology was used to develop themes for module content: appropriate terminology, health disparities and interactive cases to demonstrate respectful communication about gender identity and sexual orientation. Participants will receive a toolbox of resources on caring for LGBTQIA+ youth.
